Published in Saudi Press Agency on 12 - 12 - 2017

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon.
At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on the telephone call received from President Donald Trump of the United States of America, the telephone call received from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Republic of Turkey, his meeting with British Chancellor of Exchequer Philip Hammond and Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Undersecretary of Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov.
The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed a number of issues and latest developments at regional, Arab and international arenas. It welcomed Kuwait's declaration issued at the conclusion of the Summit of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States in its 38th session, and its affirmation that the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud approved by the Council in December 2015, laid the required foundations for completing the integration system among the GCC States in all fields and its emphasis on the importance of the pivotal role of the Council in security and stability in the region and combating terrorist organizations and the extremist ideology.
The Cabinet commended the international unanimity rejecting the announcement of United States President Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as the capital of Israel and relocating the Embassy of the United States of America to it, renewing the Kingdom's denunciation and great regret of taking this step by the United States Administration as it represents a great bias against historic and firm rights of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem (Al-Quds) guaranteed by relevant international resolutions, and the Kingdom's call on the American administration to rescind this decision and bias the international will to enable the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights.
