Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber and a number of officials participated here today, in a workshop organized by the Gulf Research Center, in collaboration with the Geneva Center for the Democratic Management of the Armed Forces entitled Views on Yemen. At the first session of the workshop, the ambassador discussed Kingdom's participation in the meeting of the Quartet with the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the five-day meeting with participation of Oman, in support of the efforts of UN Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, paying salaries and improving the economic situation. Ambassador Al-Jaber pointed to the Kingdom's clear position that the political solution to the Yemeni crisis is based on three pillars: the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the national dialogue and Security Council resolution 2216, stressing that the political solution in Yemen must be permanent, granting everyone their rights in return for true proportion, concluding that the Houthis shall hand over weapons so that terrorist groups would not have access to those weapons. For his part, the representative of the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Relief and Works Dr. Samer Al-Jatili said that the challenges facing humanitarian relief operations in Yemen lie in the absence of a system of government, that helps in planning, implementation and follow-up of relief work, stressing the need for an integrated effort to reach the stage of recovery in Yemen. Meanwhile, the representative of the Interior Ministry delegation Mohammed Al-Qarni explained the efforts of the Kingdom, in combating terrorism, at home and in supporting the Yemeni brothers in the Arab coalition forces. He pointed to the Kingdom's cooperation with international partners in this field, which was useful in uncovering attempt to plan a terrorist operation in the United States by parcels, in 2010.
