Singapore-based Changi Airports International (CAI) Company has won a license to operate Jeddah New King Abdulaziz International Airport, for a term of 20-Year, within a broader context of strategic partnership with the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Minister of Transport Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan announced, expecting that the experimental operating of the airport will begin from the mid of 2018, to accommodate with the Hajj season. During a press conference held here today, he added that the rate of completion of workings, in progress, at the site is about 88 per cent, pointing that CAI will take over the work, during the next coming four weeks and concluding that awarding the license to a foreign operator does not mean exclusion of the nationals or depriving new jobs opportunities as the ultimate goal is to run all airports, by the nationals.
