52. The Supreme Council expressed its support for the efforts of the envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations Staffan de Mistura to find a political solution based on the statement of the Geneva conference (1) and the resolutions of international legitimacy in this regard.
53. The Supreme Council expressed regret at the inability of the international community to support Syria to reach a resolution setting the date of the resumption of a new round of Syrian peace negotiations in Geneva.
54. The Supreme Council stressed the letter sent by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on June 14, 2016, on behalf of the GCC countries, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the General Assembly, the President of the Security Council, in which it expressed its deep concern about the serious humanitarian situation in Syria.
55. The Supreme Council reiterated the need to implement Security Council Resolution 2254 with respect to the lifting of the siege on the Syrian besieged cities.
56. The Supreme Council expressed its concern at the persistence of forced displacement systematic operations carried out by the Syrian regime against some Syrian society components which are designed to make a demographic change in some areas of Syria.
57. The Supreme Council stressed that the Member States are the first countries contributed to ease the suffering of the Syrian people by providing direct financial support to relevant international organizations or those working inside Syrian territory.
58. The Supreme Council condemned the use of the Syrian regime's chemical weapons in clear violation of the rules of international law and UN Security Council Resolution No. 2118/2013.
59. The Supreme Council stressed the ongoing blood-shedding and humanitarian situation worsening, especially in the city of Aleppo, and violations of international humanitarian law amounting to war crimes, call for an emergency special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in order to make recommendations according to the responsibility of the General Assembly in save the international peace and security.
