Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey are to strengthen cooperation between their police and customs forces, with the opening of a new contact centre on Friday, according to dpa. Interior ministers and customs officials from all three neighbouring countries formally inaugurated the centre at the Bulgarian-Turkish border village of Kapitan Andreevo, Bulgarian media reported. The facility will help share and analyse information on refugees and organized crime, the reports said. The border crossing to Turkey at Kapitan Andreevo is known as a major crossing point for drug smugglers and human traffickers.
