Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Abdulaziz International Contest for the Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the holy Quran started in Makkah today with the participation of 124 contesters from 66 countries. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Sidais, Chairman of the contest's Arbitration Committee who is also Dean of Holy Quran College at the Islamic University in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah drew, in a key address, the attention to the support rendered by the Kingdom's leadership since the era of the country's founder late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud for caring and interesting in the holy book. He said it is suffice that this is the 37th year of this competition from which so many young people have been encouraged.
