Security Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said in a statement today that "as a result of checking and following-up terror threats targeting the Kingdom's security and its potentials, the Security authorities have dealt with information about terror activities and threats associated with the terrorist organization of Daesh abroad, reaching advanced levels indicating that some of them are imminent, a development triggering the security authorities to double their effort to carry out pre-emptive acts to thwart them. Accordingly, the following results were yielded, thanks to Allah Almighty": First: Bringing down a four-member terrorist cell, taking Shagraa province as base of its activities and focusing on security men as their targets and with its elements establishing direct contact with a Daesh leader in Syria who gives them instructions and orders. Following identifying the cell's elements, they were arrested after a well-organized and coinciding operation. They are: Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Homood Al-Maeeli - Saudi national. Abdullah bin Obaid bin Mihmas Al-Osaimi Al-Otaibi - Saudi national. Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Jafeen Al-Daajani Al-Otaibi - Saudi national. Mujahed bin Rasheed bin Mohammed Al-Rasheed - Saudi national. Following investigations with them, they admitted having established direct links with this cell and having practiced activities within it and conducted contacts with the organization's elements in Syria. They also acknowledged that they have monitored a number of security men working in different security regions in the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Tabuk, and Eastern Region, passed information about them to the organization abroad prior to instructions to attack them later according to instructions from the deviant organization. Another six persons, all Saudis, were also apprehended following the availability of information about their links with the above-mentioned cell members. An investigation was launched into this incident to confirm their link with the cell and its activities. Second: On 8/1/1438 H. (corresponding to October 9, 2016), revelations surfaced at the security desk indicating that a terrorist threat is imminent targeting Al-Jowharah football stadium in Jeddah province to be executed using a bomb car to be stationed at the parking lot surrounding the playground as a football match between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates was scheduled on Tuesday corresponding to 10/1/1438 H. (October 11, 2016). The security authorities dealt with the matter with utmost alert and seriousness, enforcing more reinforcements and measures at the site and decisively dealing with any suspicion. At the same time, they doubled their field efforts searching the suspects, crowning it with identifying their identities and arresting them on 9/1/1438 H. corresponding to October 10, 2016. They are : - Saliman Arab Deen - Pakistani national - Farman Allah Nagshbund Khan - Pakistani national - Hassan Abdulkareem Haj Mohammed - Syrian national - Abdulazeem Al-Taher Abdullah Ibrahim - Sudanese national. --More
