Eight members of al-Qaeda were killed during an operation by Pakistani security forces in the province of Punjab. A Pakistani security official said in a statement that the operation was carried out by anti-terrorism unit of the police at dawn today in a site near the city of Multan in Punjab province. The eight dead were members of al-Qaeda and were plotting a terrorist attack on the Multan University.
