U.S. stocks fell for a second day on Tuesday, as investors took gains off the table following a recent rally and ahead of an upcoming quarterly reporting season that is expected to reveal sharply lower earnings. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 133.68 points, or 0.75 percent, to 17,603.32. The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost 20.96 points, or 1 percent, to 2,045.17. The Nasdaq composite fell 47.86 points, or 0.98 percent, to 4,843.93.
