U.S. stocks closed slightly higher in low volume trade Monday,with telecommunications and healthcare stocks leading. The dollar traded slightly higheragainst other major currencies. Lightsweet crude oil for May delivery added 38 cents to $41.52 a barrel on the NewYork Mercantile Exchange, while gold futures lost $10.10 to $1,244.20 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average increased13, or 0.08 percent, to 17,617. Thebroader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 1 point, or 0.1 percent, to 2,050. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite indexclimbed 6 points, or 0.13 percent, to 4,801.
