A host of Yemenis who were injured in action have been airlifted from Yemen to Sudan to receive medical treatment at Marawe Medical city in Sudan, at the expense of Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works (KSCRHW), it was reported here today. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabee'a, Consultant at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of KSCRHW, said in a press statement, that the move is part of an executive program signed last month with the Sudanese Red Crescent. He said a specialist team accompanied the injured from the Saudi city of Sharoora aboard a military transport plane to Khartoum yesterday from where they embarked a civil airplane to Merowe, some 300 km north of capital Khartoum. The opening of the new medical city of Marawe coincided with the arrival of the Yemeni injured. Dr. Al-Rabee'a said the center has implemented three major programs in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Sudan to provide medical care for Yemeni injured and accommodation for their companions. So far, as many as 3952 of the Yemeni injured have benefited from the programs.
