Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Youm newspaper explained in its editorial that the repercussions of what is so-called the Arab Spring and events in the region have led to an erosion of Arab and Islamic national security umbrella, then those with ambitions found in front of them a historic opportunity to undermine the nation and implement their goals and dreams in the Arab world amid a savage aggressive Safavid-Zionist attack. It added, ''In the light of this bitter reality for Arabs, the nation was in a dire need of a courageous leader, good at reading the events and avoiding the disastrous results, to take the initiative and begin to repair this umbrella and re-install it against the forces of oppression and aggression. Al-Youm concluded that the Arab-Islamic military alliance aiming to regain the nation's pride and prestige declared its readiness to protect the region's security, in addition to its willingness to deter outlaws who belittled the principles of religion, compassion and order and who underestimated the strength of the nation, forgetting that it's the nation which gave birth to a series of great men throughout history. --More
