Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir described the talks held by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as constructive, fruitful and positive. In a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu this evening, Al-Jubeir said that the talks focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and regional issues of mutual interest, pointing out that the views of the two countries were identical. He explained that the talks also resulted in the desire by the two leaders to form a Saudi-Turkish high-level strategic cooperation council. He added that the Saudi-Turkish strategic cooperation council will be interested in many matters, including security, military, political, economic, trade and investment fields as well as energy, education, cultural affairs, medicine and other fields. He explained that this council will be run by the foreign ministers of the two countries with participation by officials from other ministries, institutions and sectors. Al-Jubeir said that the council aims to create a qualitative leap in the strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey to serve the interests of the two countries and the two peoples, and contribute to achieving security, stability and prosperity in the region. He noted that the views of the two countries are identical in various political and security issues faced by the region, praising the Turkish stand supporting the Islamic Alliance to fight terrorism. Al-Jubeir pointed out that his talks with his Turkish counterpart included the situation in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya, in addition to the peace process and the importance of finding a solution leading to Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories and the establishment of a Palestinian state with its capital in East Al-Quds.
