Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is scheduled to open on Wednesday 12 Rabee'a Awal 1437 H. corresponding to December 9, 2015 the fourth year of the Shura Council's sixth session and deliver the annual royal speech at Shura Council, casting light on the internal and external policies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it was announced here today by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of Majlis Ash-shura (Consultative Council).
In his own name and on behalf of the Shura Council members, Al Al-Sheikh expressed happiness that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques would grace the occasion, deliver a speech on the internal and external policies of the Kingdom and send important messages to members of the Shura Council as well as citizens.
In a statement to mark the occasion, Al Al-Sheikh said the speech to be delivered by the monarch will highlight the main issues of the Kingdom's domestic developmental strategy, covering all economic, social and cultural aspects of life as well the major political issues at the regional and international arenas, including the Kingdom's position towards them.
He said giving the speech from inside the chamber's dome is yet another evidence of the Shura Council's importance in its capacity as one of the country's major organizational and control institutions which enjoys the care and interest of the leadership and which is anticipated to further contribute to achieving the aspirations of the leadership, government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He added that the contents of the speech will also draw a road map for the Shura Council and its members who will use it as a guide while studying the national issues on its agenda so as to help reach prudent decisions that would contribute to upgrading the performance of the State agencies and institutions, and promote their plans and programs to match with the new developments and changes of the era.
Al Al-Sheikh recalled that the Shura Council has made great strides over its third year of the sixth session, issuing a number of key decisions in several fields, and forward them to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, some of them were issued as decisions by the Council of Ministers. He cited the most-recent vacant undeveloped lands fees system as an example. To this extent, the Shura Council's Hajj, Housing, and Services sub-committees, have, in particular, exerted strenuous efforts to discuss the bill and finish its study timely as prescribed by the monarch, Al Al-Sheikh said.
