AlHijjah 21, 1436, October 5, 2015, SPA -- U.S. stocks closed more than 1.5 percent higher Monday, with the S&P 500 rising for the fifth day in a row, as rising oil prices boosted energy stocks and investors bet the Federal Reserve would not raise interest rates this year. The Dow Jones industrial average added 304.06, or 1.85 percent, to 16,776.43. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 35.61, or 1.82 percent, to 1,986.97. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 73.49, or 1.56 percent, to 4,781.26.
