Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez on Best player in Europe shortlist

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez from Barcelona and Real
Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo are the nominees for the 2014-15 Best
Player in Europe football award, dpa quoted the governing body UEFA as saying
Wednesday.
The three topped a vote among sports media from the 54 UEFA members,
with the winner to be announced at the August 27 Champions League
draw.
Ronaldo won the award last year while Messi topped the list in 2011.
Messi and Suarez won a title treble with Barca last season, and Messi
and Ronaldo are tied on a record 77 career goals in the Champions
League.
Italy and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon missed the final
shortlist in fourth place, and so did the third barca attacking star
Neymar in fifth.
