The Armed Forces managed today to confront an offensive with various axes, in Jazan-Najran sector from inside Yemen, the Command of the Joint Forces announced here today, adding that the offense was orchestrated, pre-planned and implemented by a Republican Guard formation related to the former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, with a back up from the Houthi militias. The Armed Forces repelled the offense which was aiming to penetrate the border, in an attempt to achieve, before its supporters, a moral victory to compensate the casualties among the aggressors' ranks. Artillery and Apache helicopters of our Land Forces, with back up from the National Guard Forces and the Air Force, in addition to the auxiliary of the Border Guards repelled the despondent attempt, crushing the attaching enemy forces, killing scores of them, in an honor-keeping battle that has taken place, that lasted from dawn to noon, as our forces confronted the shelling of the enemy with bravery and destroyed its vehicles and equipment that executed the aggression, on the internationally recognized border. The following officers and soldiers have died martyrs, defending the Kingdom's soil and border: - Captain Nasser bin Khalid Al-Atawi, from the National Guard - Lt. Abdullah bin Yahiya Al-Faifi, Land Forces - Corporal Hasan bin Ahmed Al-Nashiri - Private Tayeb Ali Hassan Manqari, Border Guard.
