U.S. stocks closed slightly higher, Thursday as investors cheered corporate reports. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 20.42, or 0.11 percent, to 18,058.69. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index added 4.97, or 0.24 percent, to 2,112.93. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index climbed 20.89, or 0.41 percent, to 5,056.06. The US dollar fell more than half a percent, with the euro near $1.08. Us light sweet crude oil for June delivery gained $1.58 to $57.74 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while gold futures rose $7.40 at $1,194.30 an ounce.
