U.S. stocks closed higher Monday as investors took a more positive outlook on last week's strong jobs report. The dollar traded flat against major world currencies, near 11-year highs. Light sweet crude oil for April delivery added 39 cents to $50.00 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while gold futures increased $2.20 to $1,166.50 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 138.94, or 0.78 percent, to 17,995.72. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 8.17, or 0.39 percent, to 2,079.43. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 15.07, or 0.31 percent, to 4,942.44.
