At least 16 people were killed and 39 wounded Thursday when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives during a funeral ceremony in eastern Afghanistan. "The funeral ceremony was for four people, including a police officer, killed in a roadside blast earlier that morning," said Sarhadi Zwak, spokesman for the governor of the eastern province of Laghman. The attack took place in the provincial capital, Mihtarlam, he said and that four police officers were among the dead. No group claimed responsibility for either bombing, dpa reported.
