Chinese President Xi Jinping starts a two day visit to Cuba on Monday evening, with Cubans hoping for Chinese investment. Xi was scheduled to meet President Raul Castro on Tuesday and then fly to Santiago de Cuba to see plans to improve port facilities and recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy, which heavily damaged Cuba's second-biggest city nearly two years ago. Xi was in Brazil last week for a summit of the emerging BRICS economies—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. He then traveled to Argentina and Venezuela, signing several multibillion-dollar credit and investment agreements, before stopping in Cuba on the journey home.
