Prince Saud Al-Faisal Holds Press Conference 3 Jeddah
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 19 - 06 - 2014

Faisal dismissed the notion that almost all problems were the invention of our region. Of course, there is foreign intervention that exploits the weakness of Arab countries in the current time to yield fruits as the gains they get equal our losses, he said, adding that if we unite with the required authenticity and seriousness and if any country puts confidence in another same as it is confident of itself, we could confront and conquer such challenges.
He called on Arab countries to stand united and cooperative with each other to meet the requirements of the situation today. He cited the firm position called for by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to control the situations in the Arab world most important countries, citing Egypt, Syria and Iraq which he described as Arab world historical pillars.
If this principle was observed, the Arab countries could face the hot issues with all their might and energy, and defeat not only their internal problems but also the external hostilities, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister stated.
Regarding the claim by Iraqi Premier Noori Al-Malki to bring the Kingdom's position against his country to international justice, Prince Saud Al-Faisal noted that Al-Malki is the one to blame as he gave way to different sectarian militias of the political factions in his country to fight each other and not only that but himself to stir up the sectarian fight.
He confirmed that the call for a donor conference for Egypt is getting ripe as all the participants here have expressed support for the call. I believe Egypt will receive great support as it is a great Arab, African and international figure and a source of enlightenment and that any support it receives will turn into benefit for the whole region, he said.
Asked to assess the Da'esh threat against the GCC region amid what the questioner described as differences of views on this matter within the GCC circles, Prince Saud Al-Faisal dismissed any such differences on this issue. But the threat is the possibility of terrorists growing activity in the neighboring countries and their transfer into the GCC region, he cautioned, adding that the GCC countries should prepare counter plans, based on their previous experience, to face this lesion.
