The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate, for the first time in its history, in an international badminton contest of Bahrain International Badminton Championship to be hosted by Manama starting on Wednesday. It would the first international engagement from the kingdom in this game since it was practiced by individual efforts in general education schools and some Saudi universities for more than 25 years, until the formation of the Saudi Badminton Committee by the General Presidency of Youth Welfare in 2014. The Kingdom looks forward to achieving positive results in the four-day Bahrain tournament, depending on national expertise worked over 25 years to develop basics of the badminton game and upgrade it from the level of hobby to professionalism.
