The Saudi Arabian Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) hosed, in collaboration with the WHO regional bureau, the East Mediterranean Consultative meeting, patronized here today by Acting minister of health Eng. Adel Faqih in the attendance of 50 experts, representatives of ministries of health in Arab countries, Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan, held at Jeddah's Crown Plaza hotel. Dr. Salem bin Abdullah Al-Wahabi, the Director General of CBAHI, said the three-day meeting is set to discuss a host of issues aiming to improve health quality and patients safety, the impact of accreditation on that matter and hold a review on the experience of countries, including Saudi Arabia's rich one, in the field of accreditation of healthcare institutions. In response to reporters request following the meeting to give an account on the latest developments, fight and situation of coronavirus, Faqih said daily reports show that a great effort is being exerted to contain the virus, in cooperation with a number of concerned bodies, particularly the ministry of health, leading to a reduction in disease contracting and spread control.
