The Senate Finance Committee voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to approve the nomination of Sylvia Burwell as secretary of the U.S. Health and Human Services Department (HHS). The 21-to-3 vote sends Burwell's nomination to the Senate for a full-chamber confirmation vote next week. Burwell will replace outgoing Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who led the HHS for five years.
