Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met here today with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the High-Level Meeting on Climate Change "Abu Dhabi Ascent", which began earlier today. Sheikh Abdullah and Ban Ki Moon discussed cooperation between the UAE and the UN, particularly in the international efforts to address the impacts of climate change, seen as one of the most pressing issues of our time. They also discussed topics on the meeting's agenda, including agriculture, climate action, funding, energy technology, forest management, renewable energy and transport. Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdullah received Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and discussed with her cooperation between the UAE and the programme, as well as international development and humanitarian issues.
