Media Forum on "Media and Development" started its sessions here today under the title "The visual media in the light of contemporary developments". Participants in the session included President of Radio and Television Commission Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Hazza, the Director General of Gulf Radio and Television Dr. Abdullah bin Said Abu Ras, and President of Radio, Television and Film Department at the Faculty of Information and Communication of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University Dr. Musaed bin Abdullah Al-Mohayya. Al-Hazza stressed in his working paper titled "The role of visual media in maintaining national security," that the visual media is more influential and acceptable means to the recipients as it combines more than one sense and emulates the situation with much credibility, noting that the national security is an important element in the lives of individuals and peoples as it plays a key role in the stability and tranquility.
