AlHijjah 21, 1434, Oct 26, 2013, SPA -- Overnight clashes in northern Lebanon between supporters and opponents of Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad left four people dead, dpa cited the state-run National News Agency as reporting today. The fighting involved rival gunmen from the neighbourhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Moshen. The new casualties raised the death toll to eight since the most recent round of clashes erupted on Monday. Jabal Mohsen is a neighbourhood dominated by supporters of al-Assad, while Baba al-Tabbaneh is a neighbourhood dominated by supporters of the Syrian opposition seeking to oust him. A high-ranking security meeting headed by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman is scheduled for later Saturday to discuss ways to to contain the deteriorating situation in Tripoli.
