Hussein said that SPA was quick to introduce electronic services in its work, particularly since the twentieth of December 1997. He expressed thanks and appreciation to Minister of Culture and Information and chairman of the board of directors of Saudi Press Agency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja for his support for SPA. On his part, Director General of News at the Saudi Press Agency Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Awadh expressed happiness for the occasion. He stressed that this step comes in the context of interest of the Agency in renewal and development in its field of work and investment in the new media tools and sites of social networking, revealing that the account of SPA in Instagram will be unique as it highlights video news items and shows news stories in a new way as well as the professional images posed by the account, pointing out that SPA has a rich collection of old and modern photos. Al-Awadh explained that the SPA plays an important role in the news industry, pointing out that SPA has recently seen development in its work methods.
