Published in Saudi Press Agency on 09 - 09 - 2013

AlQa'dah 3, 1434, Sep 9, 2013, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that the Syrian people live in dangerous situations as a result of war crimes committed by the ruling regime in Syria, and was most recently the use of chemical weapons without the slightest mercy.
This came in the Kingdom' speech which was delivered earlier today by Faisal bin Hassan Tarad, the Saudi ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Duchy of Luxembourg, who is also the Head of Kingdom's Mission to the European Union, during the general debate of the second item on report of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.
Ambassador Tarad made clear that the resolution issued by the Council of Arab foreign ministers in its meeting held on September 01 in Cairo had condemned the Syrian regime and held it the full and complete responsibility. He also said that Saudi Arabia provided assistance to the Syrian people worth of $ 400 million.
With regard to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ambassador Faisal Tarad confirmed that Saudi Arabia supports the actions taken by the Bahraini government to implement the recommendations of the Bahraini fact-finding Committee.
On Egypt, he reiterated the Saudi support for the current Egyptian government in its efforts to implement the future road map, condemning violence and terrorism as well as the terrorist operations hitting some areas in Egypt.
Concerning the Palestinian cause, the Kingdom' speech called on the international community to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation government to respect the implementation of the resolutions of international legitimacy for peace and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital.
