The month of August saw 804 Iraqis killed and 2,030 others wounded, UPI quoted the United Nations as saying Sunday. Baghdad suffered the highest toll in violence and terror attacks, CNN reported. Iraq's August death toll was lower than July, which was the deadliest month in Iraq since 2007. Some1,057 Iraqis were killed and 2,326 were wounded in terror attacks and other violence in July. Still, the U.N. Assistance Mission for Iraq said in a statement: "The impact of violence on civilians remains disturbingly high."
