Seven dead in boat capsize during heavy storm in Philippines

Six children and an elderly woman were killed when
a boat capsized in stormy seas in the central Philippines, police said Monday.
The boat capsized off Concepcion town in Iloilo province, 440 kilometres south of Manila, after being slammed by huge waves as tropical storm Rumbia hit the country on Saturday.
The victims were heading home from a celebration when the accident happened, said Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz, a regional police director.
The other passengers drifted at sea before they were rescued on Sunday, Cruz said, according to DPA.
Rumbia brought heavy rains and strong winds over the eastern and central Philippines on Saturday, leaving more than 13,000 passengers stranded as authorities suspended inter-island ferry services.
