Scottish authorities have held five Syrians suspected of threatening to start a fire aboard a New York-bound EgyptAir plane that was diverted to Glasgow, the state-owned carrier's chairman said on Sunday. "After interviewing the 303 passengers and checking their luggage, the Scottish security authorities had suspicions about five Syrian passengers of being behind the threat note that was found inside the plane toilet," said Tawfiq Assai. "The five were kept behind for further investigations as the rest of the passengers resumed their flight." According to dpa, the Boeing 777, which was en route from Cairo to New York, had made an emergency landing at the Glasgow Prestwick Airport after a passenger found the note threatening to set a fire on the plane.
