Egypt today vowed that all options are open before it to deal with the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue. In a statement, Dr. Ayman Ali, Egypt's Advisor to the President for Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, said all options are open before his country to tackle the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue to guarantee it water rights. He also said it is the right of his country to defend its interests as all other peoples will have the same right. But there should be guarantees that the Ethiopian man-made water barrier will not harm Egypt, otherwise all options will be open, Ali said. He described the building of such a giant project without meeting the conditions of the tripartite committee, consisting of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan, as an inconvenient start.
