U.S. President Barack Obama Monday announced the nomination of one of his senior economic advisors as deputy director of the White House budget office. President Obama said in a statement that he has chosen Brian Deese as his nominee for the number two job at the Office of Management and Budget, a key position. President Obama said "Brian Deese has a deep and intuitive understanding of economic and budgetary policy, and I am confident he will serve America well in this new role." Last month, President Obama nominated Wal-Mart's Sylvia Mathews Burwell to lead the budget office. If confirmed by the Senate, Burwell and Deese would assume their roles as the government continues to deal with automatic spending cuts that took effect at the beginning of March.
