A number of activists and politicians who are taking part in the National Dialogue Conference in Sanaa today expressed optimism and confidence that the current national dialogue will lead the Republic of Yemen to safety and lay the foundation for a new unified, secure and stable country. Abdulqader Hilal, Mayor of Sanaa and member of the dialogue committee, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on the sidelines of the opening of the conference that this conference is a sign of omen giving hope for a successful second phase of the process for peaceful transfer of power in Yemen. For his part, Muneer Al-Mawri, a Yemeni prominent journalist, lauded the speech of the Secretary General of the GCC Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani describing it as sincere and fraternal. "After having listened to Dr. Al-Zayani, I became more confident that our brothers in the GCC state countries are with us to make this dialogue a success. So, we are not worrried at all since the brother Gulf states are supporting the stability and unity of Yemen", he said. For their part, Yasser Al-Awadi and Ali Ashal, memebrs of the national dialogue committee, said Yemenis are required to face today their future as the regional and international communities are in support of them.
