Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, Jumada I, 03, 1434, March 15, 2013, SPA -- A number of senior officials in the Arab and Islamic countries have praised the selection of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah as the capital of Islamic culture 2013, confirming its great position in the Islamic history and its leading role in spreading Islamic culture in different parts of the world. They were the Sudanese former President Field Marshal Abdulrahman Suwar Al-Dahab; the Egyptian former Minister of Endowments Dr. Mohammad Ali Mahgoub; the Turkish former Minister of Education and Science Dr. Anas Karic; and Dubai Grand mufti and head of the Ifta advisory section of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad. This came in interviews in the last couple of days on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of this occasion which took place last Tuesday.
