Harthi said that the agreement came within the framework of the humanitarian efforts provided by the Saudi National Campaign for the Support of Brothers in Syria as well as a continuation of the partnership between Saudi relief campaigns and committees and the World Health Organization (WHO) in the fields of medical and humanitarian work for the people affected. He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supported the Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey where the Saudi national campaign opened regional offices in these countries to deliver assistance. For his part, Dr. Alaa Aldain Al-Alwan, Regional Director of the WHO, thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this noble gesture in providing medical and humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people. He lauded the role played by the Saudi campaign in providing urgent relief aid to the Syrian people, pointing out the agreement will provide medical and surgical emergency services in the affected areas as well as implementing national program for vaccination.
