He added that it's time to lift the permanent immunity from Israel and take action on granting the State of Palestine independence and end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, as well as ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan Heights and the rest of Lebanese occupied territories, stressing that the continuation of the current situation is a waiver of the credibility of the United Nations and the Security Council. With regard to the Syrian crisis, Al-Mualami said that it became clear that the Syrian regime has lost its legitimacy and is no longer able to stay in power while fighting desperately to keep its chair. He said that Saudi Arabia is watching painfully what happens in Syria and has been quick to provide humanitarian relief aid for the people of the brotherly Syrians valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, urging the Security Council to respond to the appeal of the Syrian people and the High Commissioner for human Rights and to act in a swift and decisive manner under Chapter VII to stop the killings by the Syrian regime and to work towards a real peaceful transfer of authority.
