Faisal delivered a speech on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The monarch welcomed the guests in this holy place of Makkah. He hailed the topic of the conference as the issue of the hour. He expressed hope that the conference could present the true religious views in light of genuine pillars and objectives of the religion to contain the bloody crises seen here and there in the Islamic world. He said today's situation of the Islamic nation unveiled the weakness of the nation to solve its problems. This is because people are distancing themselves from true Islam, he added. The monarch said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has dealt with these situations emanating from its firm position and policy towards its brothers in the Arab and Islamic nations based on the objectives of the Sharia law that the Islamic society is one unity belonging to its religious and humanitarian identity. Emanating from this view, we called on the Islamic leaders to hold the 4th extraordinary Islamic summit last Ramadan in Makkah to enhance Islamic solidarity, face the challenges before our nation and contain the crises. He called on the Muslim Ulema, influential personalities and organizations to work with MWL to urge people to adhere to true Islam and evade factious and sectarian struggle and other differences and sedition. He thanked MWL for its efforts to call for pragmatic programs and spread of Islamic solidarity culture among Muslim peoples.
