The lower house of the Dutch parliament approved the eurozone's 500-billion-euro (630-billion-dollar) permanent bailout fund on Thursday, local media reported. According to dpa, the Netherlands is to contribute 4.5 billion euros to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and guarantee a further 35 billion. The bill was passed by a majority of 100 votes in the 150-seat parliament. The far-right Freedom Party (PVV) led by Geert Wilders, the conservative party ChristenUnie, the Socialists and other smaller parties voted against. A motion of no confidence in Economy Minister Jan Kees de Jager initiated by the eurosceptic Wilders failed.
