RIYADH: The Cabinet has reiterated the strong condemnation made in Sunday's statement by GCC foreign ministers concerning “blatant Iranian interference” in the internal affairs of member states through “plotting against their national security and sowing the seeds of discord and factional sedition among their people”. The Cabinet said that Iran's actions constitute a “flagrant violation of sovereignty, independence, principles of good neighborliness, international conventions and UN and OIC charters”. Chairing the weekly session Monday, Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, briefed ministers on a telephone call between King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Jordanian King Abdullah II in which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and developments in the region. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the meeting, Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet reviewed the rapid developments being witnessed in some Arab and Islamic countries, and expressed its satisfaction at the GCC ministerial council on Yemen which urged “all relevant parties to give priority to the national interest and return immediately to the dialogue table and reconcile national goals and called for reforms to reach a comprehensive agreement and national consensus to restore peace and realize the aspirations of the Yemeni people”. Ministers praised the leadership of Bahrain for the handling of its situation, and expressed gratitude to both the country's government and people for their “heartfelt gesture over the Kingdom's stand in the face of the malicious attempts to destabilize Bahrain”. The Cabinet also voiced its wish to see the London ministerial meeting on Libya produce a settlement with a “primary goal of protecting the Libyan people and ensuring the flow of the humanitarian aid to those affected”. Ministers warned of any exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis facing the people of Libya.
