BFSA organizes doubles tournament

DAMMAM: The Federation Cup Winter doubles Badminton Tournament, organized by Badminton Federation Saudi Arabia (BFSA) in collaboration with Aramco Ras Tanura Badminton Club ended successfully at Najmah Indoor courts.
Over 350 players of various nationalities from India, Philipines, Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia competed in this mega event. The tournament was conducted for 8 levels of players from beginners to professionals. The events were: men doubles, ladies doubles and combo doubles.
In the men's premier flight, former GCC champion Suneet Sebastian and Tony Abraham beat Dudy S. and Mahendra Muttu in straight games for the coveted trophy. In the championship final, the Indonesian pair of Mohammed Mahsun and Agung Rupadi downed the Riyadh pair of Koh Liang Pheng and Abdul Jabbar. BFSA President Mr.George PuthenMadhom in his presidential address congratulated all the winners and runners-up and thanked the sponsors for their support.
Ravi Mandhadi, President of RTBG, had been very much instrumental in hosting this event in Najmah indoor courts and Radwa indoor courts in Aramco.
Major sponsors of the tournament were Delmon, Hempel Paints, Sinmar Contracting Est., Al-Suwaiket, Kanoo Travel, Global Travel Solutions, Hydrofit Arabian Equipment Co. and Dunes School. Sri Lankan Airlines provided two raffle tickets which were won by Mahsun and Athira Anil from Riyadh.
The tournament committee included George PuthenMadhom, Eapen Tharakan, Sajan Babu, Meros Mathew, A.V. Mathew, Sameer Baikadi, Shaikh Ashrafulla, Anil Thomas, Verghis Cherian, Sirajulla Khan, N. Lakshmaiah, Hashim Haleem, Chacko John and Ravi Nandhadi.
