Freight, P&IP and Finance outplay opponents

JEDDAH: In the fourth week matches of the Kanoo Inter-Division League, Freight, P&IP and Finance dealt stunning blows to their respective opponents Commercial, Travel and Maersk Lions repecrtively.
Freight crushes Commercial
Commercial started in fine fashion to reach 30 for no loss through openers Nabil (13) and Hakim (13). Later Ayub 13 was well supported by Akbar 13 and Arshad 17 not out.
And with some good running between the wickets Commercial reached a moderate score of 108 for 9 in 15 overs. Freight's main bowlers were Jayasuriya (4-27) and Yazar (2-14). One wicket each went to Hameen and Ranil.
Freight batsman had little difficulty in reaching the target in just 8.3 overs. Opener Oliver 22 and Hameen 11 gave a good start followed by in-form batsmen Fazal 24 (3 fours and 1 six) and Jayasuriya 40 (3 fours and 2 sixes) who remained unbeaten to win the match convincingly by 8 wickets. Man of the Match: Fazal of Freight.
P&IP downs Travel
P&IP started briskly as openers Matheen 51 (4 fours and 3 sixes) and Razi 54 (7 fours) put on a blazing partnership of 100 runs. Later, Liaqat 10 and Irfan 11 not out propped up the innings with some sensible batting. Venkit (2-19), Junaid and Nayaz (one wicket each) could not contain the strong batting line-up of P&IP which made 157 in 15 overs.
In response, Travel's pinch-hitter Adnan smashed 2 fours and 4 sixes in his well-struck 48. Arif 29 not out kept the scoreboard ticking with a Test-match like innings as wickets fell for single digits at the other end. Travel finally managed to make 115-7 in 15 overs. P&IP's successful bowlers were: Najaf (2-29), Irfan (2-6) and Fazlu and Vasi (one wicket each). Man of the Match: Razi of P&IP.
Finance sinks Maersk Lions
Finance lost both their openers for 11 before Thabrez 60 (6 fours and 3 sixes) who played some scintillating shots and Jerome 29 (3 fours and 1 six) put up a third-wicket partnership of 73 runs.
Thereafter Finance never looked back as Nasir 24 (1 four and 3 sixes) and Saadique Merchant 26 not out (1 four and 2 sixes) enabled their team to set a formidable target of 181 in 15 overs. Ashfaq claimed 2-41. Ghazanfer and Ammanullah got one wicket each.
In reply, Maersk Lions lost wickets at regular intervals and collapsed to 107-9 in 15 overs. All-rounder Thabrez picked up 3 wickets along with Qaisar (2-28). Saadique and Ehtesham (one wicket each) also bowled well. Man of the Match: Thabrez of Finance.
