Thamer International School Jeddah (TIS) celebrated the success of their students in the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) on Feb. 24, Thursday, at the school premises.
More than 100 students were awarded by the Senior School heads and the Director of TIS, Najla Zeindden, for their brilliant achievements in the CIE for 2010.
TIS students achieved 11 distinguished positions and awards in the IGCE and A level exams, where two students Rowaa Ibrahim, in the A-Level ICT examination, and Abdelrahman Al-Acer, in AS-Level Mathematics, outshone everyone else by securing a world-wide distinction – “top in the world” in their respective exams! Both these students were honored with special awards in academic excellence.
On behalf of Prince Faisal Bin Thamer Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the chairman of TIS, Turiya Maraideen, representative of the owner of the school, presented an appreciation award to Najla Zeindden for dedication to the school and her efforts for its progress.
Guest of honor Khalid Thabit Al-Harithy, Director of foreign and national education, Mohammed Ghamdi, Turiya Maraideen, and Najla Zeindden awarded the teachers with appreciation certificates for their outstanding work with the students – their dedication, hard work, relentless efforts that bore its fruit in the ICE results.
A special award was given to Salma Kadri, IGCSE, GCE and A-Level Coordinator and ICT Coordinator for her excellent performance in facilitating and assisting the students in preparing for these tough exams. Kadri was also honored with the title of the Top ICT A-Level Teacher for her unparalleled success.
Najla Zeindden also extended her gratitude and appreciation to those who contributed to the great success of TIS – including administrators, teachers and parents. She lauded her staff and her students for continuing to deliver such heartening results every year and reinforcing the vision of the school. Since the last five years, TIS students have achieved distinguished ranks in the ICE nationally and globally. Randa Munajib gave vote of thanks on behalf of all the girl students of TIS and Mohammed Abuayoun gave vote of thanks on behalf of the boy students.
The following students were the stars of the show for their superb performance in the ICE: Rowaa Ibrahim Ibrahim, Abdelrahman Al-Acer, Majid M. Mokhtar Kali, Sarah Kayali El-Alem, Mohammed Taher Tageldin Sayed, Jad Ibrahim Boksmati, Majed Wadih El-Hechi, Nabila Amro Boksmati.
