KUWAIT: On behalf of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, congratulated the State of Kuwait, its government and people, on its 50th anniversary of independence and the passage of five years since Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ascended the throne as Emir of Kuwait.
In a statement to the media on arrival in Kuwait Friday evening to participate on behalf of King Abdullah in Kuwait's celebrations of these occasions, Prince Naif said, “The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques honored me to attend these occasions on his behalf and I convey his greetings and those of Crown Prince Sultan to Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, Emir of Kuwait; Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; Crown Prince of Kuwait; and the Kuwaiti people.”
Prince Naif added, “The people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are participating with the people of Kuwait in these occasions that are dear to us all. We might as well as say we should be congratulated on these occasions because Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are one nation (Ummah). They are our brothers. Their happiness is ours and their celebrations are our celebrations.”
He stressed that Kuwaitis are living in security, stability and progress, despite the challenging circumstances.
“I congratulate them on these three occasions at a difficult time the world, particularly the Arab region, is going through. The Kuwaiti people have the right to be proud of this, the standard reached by Kuwait and the great understanding between the leadership represented by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people in all matters, whether they are political, social or economic.”
Finally, Prince Naif prayed to Almighty Allah that these bounties He has granted Kuwait's leadership and people would continue.
At Kuwait International Airport, Prince Naif was received by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait; Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, heir apparent of Kuwait; and a number of high-level Kuwaiti and Saudi officials.
