JEDDAH: Target Guys emerged champions of TCF Shifa Jeddah T10 Champions Trophy 2011 by beating Al-Jazeera Ford by 7 wickets at the Bagdhyadiya ground recently. Al-Jazeera Ford which opted to bat first tallied 109-8 in 12 overs. Yunis, Antony and Aurangazeeb were instrumental for a fighting total. Jahangeer and Abdullah took 3 and 2 wickets respectively for Target Guys. In reply, Target Guys hit the target in 7.4 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Opener Zahid thrilled the crows and made things easy for for his team with his hitting spree. Hitting sixes (10) and fours (4) effortlessly he stormed to 81 runs in 30 balls and earned the Man of the Final award. He had also won Man of the Match award in semifinal. This was the third consecutive year TCF organizing floodlit cricket tournament here. Top 12 teams participated in the championship. Guests who graced the occasion were AbdulRahman (Chairman, Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic), Salah Karadan, Saleem (Air France), Muneer (Pocari Sweat), Moosa (Prime Express), Najeeb (Aero Express), Basheer (EFS) and Faizal (Blusens) distributed the prizes. Anwar Sadath, General Secretary of TCF made the welcome speach and Ali proposed a vote of thanks. Fadhil Group Fair Play Team award was won by Mednet. Former Srilankan Broadcasting Corporation commentator M.M.M. Naushad gave live commentarory throughtout the tournament. Air Arabia air tickets to any Air Arabia destination were awarded to the following: Mohammed Zahid of Target Guys (best batsman); Mohammed Sami of Target Guys (best bowler); Akbar of Al-Jazeera Ford (best all-rounder); Mohammed Shamsu (spectator award) and Yunus Babu (spectator award).
