RIYADH: The Shoura Council is scheduled to name Saturday the chairmen, deputies and members of 13 specialized committees at the council for its third five-year session. The selections will be based on the availability and expertise of members. The council said in a statement Friday that the members will discuss a report by the economic and energy committees in preparation to endorse the Free Trade Zone Agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Singapore. Also under discussion will be the annual report of the Agricultural Development Fund for the year 2008 to 2009, based on the report of the Financial Affairs Committee at the Council, which has reviewed the fund's report. The council is also scheduled to hear on Monday the view of the Financial Affairs and Energy Committee on the remarks and opinions raised by the council's members about the private companies' draft law. The council will also discuss the annual report of the Ministry of Transportation for the fiscal year 2009 to 2010, the ministry's future plans and difficulties hampering the ministry's work.
