JEDDAH: The Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the British Consulate General and Falcon Education and Consultancy Services (Pvt) Ltd, is holding an educational conference at the Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ-English Section) today.
The educational conference was inaugurated Monday by the Pakistan Ambassador Umar Khan Alisherzai and guest of honor Kate Rudd, the British Consul General. The aim of the conference is to provide opportunities of higher education to the students of Saudi Arabia in eight well-known UK universities.
“I always try to give the best facilities to students for attaining higher education in the best universities of the world. Delegates from the most prestigious universities of the UK are participating in this educational conference, in which educational consultants, counselors and educational advisors are available to provide guidance,” said Umar Khan Alisherzai the Pakistan Ambassador. “The main aim of the conference is to provide information and proper guidance to students for their future,” he added.
British Consul General Kate Rudd said that education and training are not only very crucial and important on their own, but are also an important component in every major industry. The UK is one of the best partners in developing and matching the skills that industry needs, she said.
She also said that the students of Pakistani schools and others like to study in the UK and at the moment almost 21,000 Saudi students are studying there, in language learning institutes, graduate and post graduate studies.
“Most UK educational institutes have Saudi and international students. We also believe we have quality education as some of the best universities in the world are in the UK and we very much welcome international students,” she said.
“The conference has been organized with the aim of providing advice to our students, who want to study in the UK so that they can get information about universities there and the support and scholarships they are providing for international students,” said PISJ principal Saher Kamran.
“Basically this is a forum which we have provided so that students can get the best knowledge for their future plans,” Kamran said. “We invite academics and students from all schools and colleges to join us and take advantage of this opportunity,” she added.
