Pranab scored a crucial knock of 47, while Jassam made 43. Nasir and Javed Mirza claimed a wicket each for Kashmir-XI. In reply Kashmir-XI started aggressively but lost wickets at regular intervals and fell short by 28 runs. Khizar scored a quickfire 46 and Suhail made 24. Sharif claimed 4 wickets and Amir picked up two. Sharif was declared man of the match. A Group B encounter saw Jotun beat Saad-XI by 95 runs. Put into bat Jotun scored 239 runs for five wickets with Liyakat playing a brilliant knock of 92 runs and Farooque scoring 73. Mustafa took two wickets, while kabir bagged one. In reply Saad-XI could score only 144 runs losing nine wickets in the process. Amjad scored 60, while Mustafa contributed 49 runs. Irfan and Liyakat claimed three and two wickets respectively. Liyakat was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. Saudi-XI meanwhile beat Natpet by 43 runs in another Group A match. Batting first after winning the toss Saudi-XI posted a total of 169 runs with Afzal scoring 47 runs and Zaki 28. Asmat claimed three wickets while Sharif and Amir claimed a wicket each for Natpet. In reply Natpet could score only 126 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Najib was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Sharif remained unbeaten on 14. Abdullah Nadwi claimed three wickets and Atiq bagged two. Abdullah Nadwi was declared man Of the match. Saifullah, Ikhlaq, Rizwan and Ali Cheema were the umpires for the matches, while Moin was the scorer. __
